The New Brog

It's been at least five years since I started Brog, my blog about food, culture, and my various and sundry bodily functions. The last couple years of Brog are available on BlogSpot. It begins again here.

It was always just me, operating in a vacuum, railing against the world with no illusions that there were more than three people who were ever going to read what I was writing, and knowing that even those three probalby only stumbled across my site while they were looking for Gumby pr0n and were probably hating me because--let's face it--a guy going on about the merits of beef tallow in the American diet is not quite the turn-on that acid-fueled claymation is.

With the new tubGoat, I'm not on my own. I'm a part of a collective--a diverse group of humans with different talents and views, all bound together by not much more than a common simian ancestor. We've got a republican mother of three who gardens and scrapbooks, a guy who works in IT for a university and writes about the stupid people he's forced to deal with every day of his life, a new mom who helps people compute by day and by night paints stuff... and this is only our second day of operation.

I don't know what this blog is going to focus on. I've spent too many years spewing vitriol, so I think I'm ready to be positive. If were to die today, and my past sites and blogs were the only testimony left for my children, they'd grow up convinced that their father was an insufferably bitter old fart who blamed the world for his own hangnails.

I'll be writing about food, art, movies, TV, and anything that makes me happy happy joy joy.

Thanks.
