W00t!

UnderWhere's picture

I did get a few pages of Brandon's lifebook done today, but mostly I spent time organizing what pictures and paperwork I have.  Everyone in our family has a labeled plastic bin that is chock full of stuff - report cards, photos, ticket stubs, letters, birthday cards.  I've gotten most of Brandon's more recent stuff into his book over the years, so his bin is close to empty.  The thing that's FULL is a folder on my computer desktop - since we have a semi-open adoption, his birthfamily relatives have sent me a TON of baby pictures that I have yet to have printed.  It's awesome that we have them, but not so good for me in terms of workload!  I hope to get them burned to a CD and printed on Thursday.  (I adopted Brandon when he was 12, so you can imagine how many pictures I'm talking about.  It's a lot!)

I did take some photos of a few of the scrapbook pages in Brandon's book, so interested people could see what I'm referring to when I call it art.  (They're posted in my gallery!) It's really just pasting photos onto pretty paper, and then journaling about what is going on in the pictures.  Some people are really plain with it, but I tend to like more interesting pages.  I liken it to graphic design - I certainly use a lot of the same spatial tools that I have from when I used to work in Marketing!  It's funny how those things overlap.  Anyway, I love spending time doing this.  I don't know why I've been procrastinating - it was SO relaxing to just concentrate on the memories and on making things look nice.
